  • Anahaw- use mainly in papermaking.

  • Bagtikan- The wood is generally used for rough construction; cabinet and furniture making, interior finish, flooring, veneer and plywood, pulp and papermaking, boat planking and framing, mine timber and other uses.

  • Big leaf mahogany- mahogany has been a prized timber product -- a building block for high-quality furniture and musical instruments -- valued for its deep reddish color, durability and beauty.

  • Kapa Kapa- mainly used in landscaping, sometimes an indoor plant.

  • Mangkono- is mainly used as pillars of small houses. Because of its inherent hardness and high density, mangkono has long been recognized as a substitute for the world famous Lignum vitae (Guaicum officinale L.). Mangkono is an excellent material for the bearing or stern bushing of a steamship’s propeller shaft.

  • Narra- The flowers are sources of honey. Although the wood is not necessarily recommended as firewood, it certainly could be used for firewood. Traditionally, it has so much in demand for cabinet class furniture that nearly everywhere its existence in the wild is precarious. In the Philippines, it is the national tree and the favorite timber for the manufacture of fine furniture, cabinetry, cart wheels, carving, construction, and musical instruments. Leaves are used to make lotion, shampoo, disinfectant, and insecticide. There is a distinctive sweet smell when working with the wood. It is little used for ornamental turning, but because the burl is so exquisitely figured, it makes a nice compliment to a piece to use it for finials or a cabochon-like inlay on a flat box top.

  • Tangisang Bayawak- Used for temporary construction, mouldings, interior works, claddings, drawers, concrete formworks, dugouts, small  domestic articles, fruit crates, floats, and firewood.

  • White Lauan- The wood is used for general construction furniture and cabinet making, boat planking, mining timbers, and papermaking. It is also used to make boxes, crates, utensils, and veneer plywood. Bark extracts obtained by boiling is used to cure cough, reduce body temperature in fever, and heal wounds. Wood extract inhibits growth of tumor
